Abstract: Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is developed to provide a new achitecture of mobile network enabling the convergenceof data-voice and other mobile applications and technologies based on the Internet Protocol (IP). The IMS used Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) to perform the signalling processes. This research analysed the communication process and several Quality of Service (QoS) parameters of integrated IMS, i.e., jitter, max delta, delay, throughput, and packet loss. The QoS performance has been analysed in several service scenarios i.e., voice call, video call, and instant messaging. An IMS core network testbed based on OpenIMSCore is developed, in which the clients have access through wired LAN and WiFi access point. The characteristics and performance of both access methods are compared and studied.  The OpenIMSCore served clients well and produce communication processes in accordance with the SIP standards of RFC 3261. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the QoS through both wired LAN and WiFi access fulfilled the QoS requirements and recommendation of standards set by the ITU-T. In accordance to the results, the QoS performances of wired LAN access are better than WiFi, in all service scenarios.
